Board of Directors

Andrew Frawley

Chair

Andrew was originally called to serve the moms and babies as a volunteer over 10 years ago. Andrew’s service on the Board allows him to continue to serve the moms and babies through a more administrative and strategic role.

Joseph Petros

Co-Vice Chair

We are all called to cherish and protect human life from the moment of conception until natural death and, as an indispensable part of that calling, to serve the most vulnerable among us. Zelie’s Home carries out that mission by providing desperately needed shelter and support to some of the most vulnerable people in the Cleveland area—homeless women and their unborn or newborn babies. Joseph feels called to serve Zelie’s Home because of the unique life-saving and life-affirming work it does in our community.

Melanie Whiting

Co-Vice Chair

As a mom of young children, Melanie felt a pull to Zelie’s Home because she remembers the challenges of becoming a parent for the first time, even when all of your basic needs are taken care of and you have the support of family and friends. Melanie wanted the opportunity to support moms who were starting out without those things in place, and she loves the fact that this is an organization where her whole family can get involved.

 Karen Hostoffer

Secretary

Having a deeply rooted belief in the sanctity of life, the mission and core values of Zelie’s Home align perfectly with Karen’s own. Her commitment to serving Zelie’s Home, both as a volunteer and board member, is one that has also been embraced by her entire family. Karen loves that her family has been given the opportunity to join her in serving the moms and babies at Zelie’s Home. The heart for service is one that never grows cold.

Michael Vidmar

Treasurer

Michael felt compelled to support Zelie’s Home and the commitment to life and the mothers as a way to offer a real option to a mother and her unborn child. As a father of two, Michael has come to understand the challenges that new parents experience and how much support is needed from the community for each new parent and child. Zelie’s Home is a great way to provide the additional support for our mothers and their new babies that they may not get in their current home environment.
